Creating a list of references without inserting citations
If you have already inserted citations into your assignment manually, you can still use EndNote to create a list of references at the end of your document. Simply follow the steps below:
- Make sure that you can view your EndNote Library and Word on screen at the same time by resizing the windows.
- Check that the correct output style is selected in EndNote.
- Highlight the references that you want to include in your bibliography. (Use the Ctrl key to select multiple references.)
- Hold down the Ctrl key and drag the references into your Word document.
Your bibliography will automatically be formatted using your chosen style.
Note: Select your references carefully as you cannot go back and add extra references without starting the whole process from scratch.
Labels: citations, EndNote, format list of references, independent bibliography, Word
