Accessing files stored on your own PC through the Remote Desktop

It is possible to set up the Remote Desktop to allow you to view your own PC's drives, as well as the campus H: drive.

• From the Remote Desktop Connection login window select Options (you must do this before you click Connect)
• Click on the Local Resources tab
• Under Local devices select Disk drives
• Click Connect

Once you are logged in, your own PC's drives will be visible in the My Document window of the Remote Desktop.

Accessing EndNote in the Library

EndNote should now be available on all PCs in the Library. Please let me know if you experience further problems. (H.Perkins@coventry.ac.uk)

Accessing EndNote from PCs in the Library

Some PCs in the Library seem to have temporarily lost the EndNote program. Unfortunately there is no way of telling whether EndNote is available on an individual PC until you have logged in and try to access it. IT Services are working on the problem and we hope to have EndNote available on all Library PCs again as soon as possible.

Staff access to EndNote from off-campus

EndNote X is now available though the Thin Client service provided by IT Services which means that you can access your EndNote library from home.

A guide showing how to access EndNote via the Thin Client service is available from the Library EndNote webpages (http://www.coventry.ac.uk/endnote).

Please note: Students cannot currently access the Thin Client service, but it is hoped that it will become available in the future.

Academic Staff: accessing EndNote from desktop PCs

Some members of academic staff are experiencing difficulties locating the EndNote software on their desktop PC. If EndNote does not appear in the 'Start' menu try the following:

• Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add New Program
• Choose 'CSV-EndNoteX' from the menu
• Click on 'Add'
