Accessing files stored on your own PC through the Remote Desktop

It is possible to set up the Remote Desktop to allow you to view your own PC's drives, as well as the campus H: drive.

• From the Remote Desktop Connection login window select Options (you must do this before you click Connect)
• Click on the Local Resources tab
• Under Local devices select Disk drives
• Click Connect

Once you are logged in, your own PC's drives will be visible in the My Document window of the Remote Desktop.

Missing EndNote toolbar in Word

A number of academic staff have experienced difficulty finding the EndNote toolbar within Word. If this happens to you, try the following steps:

1. Within Microsoft Word go to the Tools menu and select Options.
2. Click the File Locations tab and note the path to the Microsoft Word Startup folder.
3. Close Word (and Outlook if it is running).
4. Open Windows Explorer and locate the EndNote folder. (This is usually C:\Program Files\EndNote X.)
5. Copy the following two files: EN10CWYW, EN10Cwyw.WordXP
6. Find the Word Startup folder and paste these files into the folder.
7. Open your EndNote Library.
8. Open Word.
9. The toolbar should now appear automatically. If not, click on View > Toolbars > EndNote X.
